Regulations EC261 / UK261
AirBaltic is a Latvian airline. That means it has to follow European flight compensation regulations. There are two regulations that apply to airBaltic flights – EC261, also known as the EU flight compensation regulation, and the UK261 (its UK counterpart). Every time your AirBaltic flight is late, cancelled or overbooked, you may be entitled to EU flight compensation. Don’t forget to file a claim!

ELIGIBILITY:

Every time your airBaltic flight is 3 or more hours late, and the delay is due to the their fault, not something unavoidable, you may be entitled to EU flight delay compensation. You can get up to 600 euro per person. For example, airBaltic staff strikes are considered their fault (you can get compensation from airBaltic).

Every time your airBaltic flight is cancelled, you must be given either a new flight or a full refund. You have a right to choose option that suits you the best. The same applies to all flights both departing from and arriving to Europe (EU, EEA, UK). If it’s a last-minute flight cancellation, you may also have a right to EU flight cancellation compensation.
